SUMMERFIELD is a talented midfielder who loves to get the ball down and spray passes all round the park. He has a fierce shot from distance and his strong tackling makes him an ideal centre-midfielder.
Summers is a product of the Argyle youth set-up and the son of Kevin Summerfield; a former Pilgrims' midfielder and assistant manager to Paul Sturrock.
He made his debut for the Pilgrims as a substitute in the draw with Leicester in May 2005.
He only made one appearance for the first-team in the 2005-06 season, but Ian Holloway was immediately impressed with the youngster and Summers repaid that faith with a fantastic goal in his first start for the club in the 1-0 Coca-Cola Championship win at Colchester in August 2006.
Summers ended last season on loan at Bournemouth and he will be looking to continue his development this term.
