WE are delighted to have been shortlisted in the Coca-Cola Championship Family Club of the Year category in this season's 2008 Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo's Top 50 Football League Players.

Stewart Thomson, commercial director of the Football League, said: "The Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo's Top 50 Players aim to reward outstanding achievements both on and off the football pitch.

"This year's new Family Club of the Year award in each division will reward clubs delivering a truly outstanding family experience through their pricing, customer service, and match-day family-focused activity.

"Once again, the quality of the entries is testament to the commitment and hard work throughout the clubs, and there will be some truly worthy winners."

The other clubs nominated are: Leicester City, Norwich City and Preston North End.

Argyle chief executive Michael Dunford said: "We are very pleased that the thought and hard work that goes into providing the best we can for our supporters has been recognised by the Football League."

"As part of our continued commitment to the care of our fans, we introduced a new Family Section to Home Park this season and launched two special value-for-money family tickets.

"Part of Block 1 of the Devonport end is now set aside every week for dads, lads, mums, daughters, aunties, uncles and grandparents to enjoy the Home Park match-day experience together. It even has a baby-changing area."

Families of four (two adults, two under 18s) can purchase a special priced Four-up Ticket for an all-in cost of just £48, while the club also issues a Tandem Ticket for an adult and under 18 year old together, at £24.

In December, Pilgrim Pete hosted a Family Day at Home Park, which was a wonderful opportunity for younger Greens to have their picture taken with our famous mascot, enjoy free face-painting, a magician and children's entertainer Mark Cheetham.

There was also be balloon modeling, circus games, circus workshop, Superstore "Pocket Money Sales", Argyle goodie-bags, a free helium balloon for every child, and a raffle.

The Family Club of the Year winners will be announced at the third annual Football League Awards which will take place at The London Hilton, Park Lane on Sunday, March 2.

Expert judging panels were assembled for each category and the process of evaluating each entry took place at The Football League on January 15-16.
