HEY THERE GYORGY BOY
ARGYLE manager Paul Sturrock has added to his stable of talented Hungarians by signing international midfielder György Sándor.
Sándor, 23, was formerly with Újpest, and can play anywhere across the midfield. He will wear the number 22.
"He's a full Hungarian international and we're pleased to have him," said Luggy. "I'm looking forward to working with him.
"He's a central midfielder first and foremost, but can also play on either side."
Argyle have signed György until the end of the season, when both parties will review their options.
György's arrival comes hot on the heels of former Aberdeen Scotland B star Chris Clark and French Under-21 man Yoann Folly, who played for Luggy at Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday.
"György and the others we have brought in are quality players," said Luggy.
"It's that type of player we are attracting to the club now, international players."
György, who has three full caps, joins compatriots Krisztián Timár and fellow international Péter Halmosi at Home Park, and Luggy has no doubts he will fit in well.
"He'll have to adapt, of course, and it took Peter a while to adapt to the way the game is played here.
"But I think he'll benefit from the two others being here.
"He speaks really good English, and understands it, as well, so that's not going to be a stumbling block."
György, who was born in the Ukraine, made his international debut for Hungary in November 2006, when the Magyars beat Canada 1-0 in a friendly in Szekesfehervar.
The winning goal was scored by Watford's Támas Priskin, who headed in György's left-wing free-kick in the 39th minute.
He has played 100 times for Újpest, scoring 13 goals.
