DELAY FOR LADIES
ARGYLE Ladies' eagerly anticipated top of the table clash with current leaders Reading in the SW Combination League now looks set to be played at the end of the season, as the recent inclement weather prevented the clash between the two title chasers going ahead this weekend.
Although the weather cannot be controlled, the postponement was met with frustration on both sides, with talented players from both teams looking to serve up a footballing treat in a title race that perhaps rather harshly will only see one team gain promotion to the FA Women's Premier League.
Argyle Chairman Ross Symons hoped the postponement would play into the Pilgrims hands. He said: "The game against Reading was obviously huge, but it wasn't a title decider as many games are due to be played by the end of the season.
"Perhaps we can now put that fixture to the back of our minds and now get on with winning those games in hand to see how they [Reading] cope when the pressure is really on. Hopefully, our experiences from last season will stand us in good stead in that respect. It's game on."
Argyle have a tricky fixture on Easter Sunday at an organised Yeovil outfit who are notoriously hard to beat. Kick-off in Somerset is 2.00pm.
